The Tellington TTouch Method (TTouch) is a training and healthcare system developed over 30 years ago, by internationally known animal expert, Linda Tellington Jones. The TTouch Method is recognized worldwide and used by animal owners, trainers, breeders, veterinarians, animal shelters, zookeepers, Olympic teams and universities in over 30 countries.

The gentle, non-invasive techniques include bodywork, balanced movement exercises and the use of special tools, that anyone can learn. Combining these techniques can impact a range of health and behavioral issues. TTouch has been proven to calm animals and restore confidence. It can also assist in alleviating their pain, fear and tension.

TTouch can contribute positively towards improving a wide variety of behavioral issues including excessive barking, noise anxiety, fear related issues, leash pulling, reactivity/overarousal. It is also useful for handlers looking for simple ways to increase focus and prevent injuries in performance arenas.
TTouch also provides a non-invasive way to alleviate the aches, pains, and discomforts in geriatric animals and provides comfort and support to animals recovering from injuries, surgeries or other health problems.

While studying the Feldenkrais Method, (a system of bodywork which uses gentle, non-habitual movements to activate unused neural pathways to the brain). Linda Tellington Jones realized that some of the Feldenkrais rehabilitation exercises, linking body and mind, could be used to help animals as well as humans. She found that an animal’s posture influences its behavior and that physical, mental, and emotional balance are inextricably linked. Through this discovery & years of development, came the Tellington TTouch method for animals, that we use today.

TTouch is a holistic approach, which includes the following:

  • Bodywork which is gentle and non-invasive. This bodywork focuses on the animal’s nervous system and bringing things into balance

  • Equipment and tools which bring awareness and changes to animals with regards to their posture and behavior

  • Movement or ground exercises which builds confidence, improve focus and bring about balance.

  • A Philosophy which is one of respect for animals and their partnership with us

The combination of TTouch movement exercises and bodywork improves concentration, coordination, behavior, and athletic ability in many animals. TTouch is used around the world by trainers, pet owners, massage therapists and veterinarians.
